TEPAD Kenya: Empowering marginalized Communities

Terik Essential Programs Agency for Development, Kenya (TEPAD Kenya) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering marginalized communities in Kenya through education and sustainable development initiatives. Their programs focus on providing access to quality education, vocational training, and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth and women. Foster economic empowerment, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.

The Terik community is an ethnic group residing primarily in Kenya’s Nandi County. The Terik people are known for their rich heritage, which includes traditional beliefs, customs, and practices. Historically, the Terik community has been predominantly agricultural, with farming being a central part of their livelihood. They cultivate various crops and tea taking advantage of the fertile land in their region.

The Terik community continues to maintain and uphold its cultural traditions and values while also embracing aspects of modern life. They play a significant role in the cultural tapestry of Kenya, contributing to the country’s diverse and vibrant heritage.

Our Purple Tea is cultivated in the Nandi Hills of Kenyan primarily by the local working Terik communities. We find it important to conserve and support the local Terik communities.
